English and Golf Academy at Harrow School
Golf will be offered at two levels; beginner and intermediate/players with a handicap; all students will be assessed during the first period of instruction.
Beginners: using Northwick Park’s excellent new golf centre (within walking distance of the School), beginners will receive top class teaching in all aspects of this challenging game, including stance, grip, swing and an introduction to long and short play.
Intermediate/handicap players: using both Harrow School and Northwick Park's superb facilities (9 hole course, 6 hole course, driving range, pitching area and putting green), tuition will be offered in all aspects of the game for three mornings per week. Two local 18 hole courses will be played on the remaining two mornings. The aim of the carefully planned programme is to increase understanding and confidence and reduce the handicap of players.
All sports sessions will be led by qualified and experienced coaches. Proven coaching methods, including video analysis, will be used. Students will be assessed at the beginning of the week, with a tournament providing an enjoyable finale at the end of the week.
English lessons will be given during the afternoon sessions. All students will receive 15 hours of English classes per week in international classes at all levels of ability. The maximum class size will be 12, so students will receive plenty of teacher attention and have a high quality class experience.
The weekly courses will include one full day excursion and one half day excursion.
